The Ant And The Grasshopper

It was a beautiful morning. Grasshopper woke up in the morning and look at the sky. “Oh! Sun is shining very brightly”. Grasshopper was very happy. “I can play whole the day…hey hey friends let’s get ready…..enjoy the day…..”

Grasshopper went on the top of the large rock. A cool wind was blowing, and it seemed very comfortable all around. Grasshopper was dancing, singing, and playing very happily. Suddenly, the grasshopper saw an ant carrying something weighty. He stared at the ant for a couple of minutes. Oh! It was bringing a huge pot of leaf. “Hey! my friend.  That looked pretty heavy. What’s it?

“Foods” ant replied.

Grasshopper starred at the ant and questioned “You can have the foods from everywhere. So why are you carrying very heavy pot of leaf?

“Winter is coming soon. So we are storing the foods. Otherwise, we are unable to find foods in the winter”

“ha ha… ha ha… ha ha…” grasshopper laughed at the ant and said “this is not the winter. It’s so far in the future. This is summer. So, enjoy this moment. Come and play with me”

 Ant said no to the grasshopper and moved on.

The following day was a lovely morning. Grasshopper woke up in the morning, stretched its arms, and yawned lazily. He looked up. The sky seemed very beautiful. Grasshopper climbed up the large rock and enjoyed the beauty of nature. Sun was shining brightly, the wind was blowing, and trees were laughing at each other. The sky is filled with birds soaring and singing their melodies.

Next day also, the ant moved slowly carrying something very heavy.

“Hey! My friend….are you carrying foods for winter?” Grasshopper laughed at the ant and asked.

“yes” ant replied.

“Why don’t you enjoy the moment that we have now? Look… the environment is so beautiful. Come and enjoy.”

Once again ant refused the grasshopper and moved on. Then grasshopper laughed at the mockery.

At the end of the day grasshopper went to sleep.

The following day, the grasshopper woke up, stretched its arms, and yawned as usual. Oh! The grasshopper was feeling frosted at the moment and was getting nervous. Yesterday was sunny, but today is completely different. The grasshopper was anxious and kept watching the area, wondering how it had happened.

“Oh my god! It has totally changed.” It murmured.

The surroundings were covered in snow, causing the trees and plants to turn white and be filled with hail. The absence of the sun and the silence of the birds made it clear that it was a cold day. The grasshopper felt trapped and helpless, experiencing feelings of sadness.

The grasshopper was feeling hungry, yet there was no food in sight. This reminded him of the ant. “Ant was correct” the grasshopper murmured.

The grasshopper searched for food but couldn’t find any. As he wandered past the ants’ home, he noticed how joyful they were – feasting, dancing, chatting, singing, and playing together.

The grasshopper cried and murmured “why didn’t I store the foods? Now there was nothing to eat”

Ant saw the crying grasshopper.

“Hey my friend! Why are you crying? Ant asked.

“I have nothing to eat. I found foods everywhere. But I didn’t.” grasshopper replied.

“That’s why I said store the food, because we can’t trust the next day. We need to get on with it when we can. Whether tomorrow is good or not, we need to get ready.” ant advised at the grasshopper.

“It was too late for me to realize.” grasshopper cried.

“Now keep it on your mind and never forget. We have enough foods. So, why don’t you come and enjoy with us?” Ant asked.

“Thank you very much my friend. I never forget your kind- heart” grasshopper replied.

“Let’s get into our house”. The ant went inside with the grasshopper.
